Maintenance Effectiveness Ratio

« Back to Glossary Index

The Maintenance Effectiveness Ratio compares the number of faults resolved through scheduled maintenance to those managed reactively due to unexpected incidents. This KPI gauges the success of preventive maintenance in reducing unexpected faults. A 3:1 ratio, where preventive maintenance addresses more issues than reactive management, indicates an effective maintenance strategy that lowers unplanned downtime.
